Indoor air is the internal air of any room which in case of a food industry or a commercial facility can correspond to a department (eg supermarket department or food industry room).

With the analysis of the air, its purity is checked and it is verified whether it may be the cause of some food contamination.

The analysis performed are mostly microbiological ones. For this kind of analysis, a particular instrument (air sampler) is used which aspirates the air and places it in direct contact with a plate of microbiological soil that allows the growth of bacteria.

The analyzes which are mostly carried out are:
• Total microbial load
• Yeasts
• Molds
• Listeria
